THE OBESITY EPIDEMIC

IT’S NOT YOUR FAULT

There are many causes for being overweight, and just being told to eat less and exercise more is naivety on the part of those who don’t have the problem.

Common Causes

  • Genetics – the “fat gene”
  • “Hyperpalatable” foods – industrial chemists paid to make processed foods addictive
  • Emotional triggers – anger, sadness, fear, hurt, guilt – “stuffing down” emotions, rather than feel the pain
  • Addiction – an unmet need at the level of the unconscious mind
  • Insulin resistance – from consuming processed foods and sugars
  • Leptin resistance
  • Pharmaceuticals (eg. antidepressants)
  • Sugar
  • Stress
  • Junk food pricing, availability and marketing
  • Misinformation
    • The food pyramid is upside down
    • Astro-turfing where “experts” are paid to promote or negate side effects of harmful foodstuffs and publish papers on websites, Wikipedia, etc

Dieting Doesn’t Work:

  • Short termism
  • Metabolic factors (starvation mode)
  • You must eat (unlike giving up smoking, for example, where you don’t need cigarettes to survive)
  • Stress
  • Social pressures
  • Hunger – the dieter’s enemy
  • “One size fits all” approach – yet we are all different, what works for me may not work for you
  • Unconscious programming (Eg. Childhood conditioning to always clear your plate)
  • Negative Emotions – diets never address emotional eating issues
  • Weight regain (yo-yo)
    • The diet industry wants you to keep coming back

A negative emotion will charge every cell of the body and the unconscious mind may interpret that as hunger, causing you to meet the need with food rather than emotional release.


THE WOODLAND WELLNESS APPROACH

Before even thinking about food:

  • Release negative emotions
  • Identify and release limiting beliefs (eg. I’m not worthy)
  • Identify your health and wellbeing values
  • Strengthen your intuition

  • Show you how to make the right empowered decisions every time
  • Discover your life purpose and make a plan to live your life on purpose
  • Detox and cleanse (this will shed a few pounds on its own, but is not the complete answer)
  • Get unswitched – if you have Chronic Reversed Polarity you may find it almost impossible to achieve your desired body shape – so we deal with this first, then the rest is easy

Then once you are in a happy state:

  • Identify your ideal eating plan, eg:
    • Blood type
    • Alkaline
    • Little and often
    • Intermittent fasting
    • Ayurveda
    • High protein, low carb, etc
  • Identify which foods are life affirming and which are life depleting for you (will be different for everyone)
  • Identify any supplement needs (eg. Superfoods, immune system support)
  • Design a program that fits your individual body type, nutritional needs and lifestyle
  • Eliminate cravings and emotional eating
  • Reprogram your mind to desire the beneficial foods and find the detrimental ones undesireable
  • Teach you intuitive eating
    • How to communicate with your body to assess its needs
    • How to communicate with your food to assess whether it is beneficial or detrimental to you
  • Ongoing coaching to get you where you want to be
